LGBTQI+ Affirming Therapy
Your identity isn’t the problem.
Here’s what affirming therapy means: your gender identity and sexuality aren’t pathologies to treat or phases to outgrow. Whether you’re queer, trans, non-binary, asexual, or still figuring out the words that fit – your identity is valid, and the language you use to describe yourself matters.
I work from a queer-informed approach that challenges binaries and assumptions about gender and sexuality. Your experience is yours. My role isn’t to guide you toward any particular identity or outcome, but to create space where you can explore, question, and discover what feels true for you without judgment.

Everyone benefits from this lens.
This approach isn’t just for LGBTQ+ folks. When we stop treating heterosexuality and cisgender identity as default settings, when we examine how cultural narratives shape all our relationships to bodies, desires, and identities, everyone gets freer.
That said, I recognize the specific challenges of navigating a world that wasn’t built with queer and trans people in mind: the exhaustion of constant education, the grief of rejection from family or community, the weight of having to perform or prove your identity, and the isolation that comes from being misunderstood or invisible.
You don’t need to translate yourself here.
In our work together, you won’t need to shrink your experience to fit someone else’s comfort level. We’ll use the language that feels right to you, honor the complexity and fluidity of identity, and address both the internal work (building self-acceptance, working through internalized shame) and the external realities (discrimination, family dynamics, systemic barriers).
Because thriving isn’t just about accepting yourself – it’s also about building resilience against a world that doesn’t always accept you back.
You deserve to be seen completely.
You deserve a therapist who celebrates your authenticity and understands that the goal isn’t conformity – it’s liberation.
